Разработка урока в 7 классе по учебнику «Английский язык» О.В. Афанасьевой и И.В. Михеевой в форме игры «Счастливый случай».

Цель: обобщить и проконтролировать полученные знания по темам: «Путешествие по России и за границей», «Визит в Британию», «Традиции, праздники, фестивали».

Практические задачи: активизировать лексику, тренировать учащихся в устной речи.

Образовательная задача: формировать у учащихся интерес к культуре народа страны изучаемого языка.

Воспитательная задача: создать положительную мотивацию к дальнейшему изучению языка.

Развивающая задача: развивать у учащихся память, внимание, логическое мышление.

Оборудование: компьютер, экран, проектор, 14 контейнеров из-под киндер-сюрпризов с пословицами, секундомер, листы с вопросами.

Ход урока:

I . Орг. момент.

Teacher: Good afternoon, children! Today we are going to play "A Lucky Chance Game”. Our game will be devoted to the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland. Two teams will take part in it and there’ll be five games. I’m sure you’ll certainly get some more useful information today as well.

I ask you to split into two teams. Well, the captain of the first team is……. Let’s greet the members of the first team. Meet the members of the second team with their captain….. And of course, the jury…………. The team with the highest score will be the winner.

The rules of the game are quite simple. You are to respect your group-mates and not to shout. No doubt, winning is the aim, but it’s only a game. And now it’s time to begin the game itself.

II.Основной этап урока.

T: Game I is called "Warming up!”(разминка) The task is to answer the questions at high speed. If you don’t know or don’t remember the answer, you should say "Go on!” as your time is limited. (Решить, сколько минут отвечает каждая команда) Team captains, come here to determine the order your team will be asking. Our jury will count the number of the right answers. Every right answer gives one point to your team.

The questions for the 1st team:

4. Who is Nelson? (a British Admiral)

5. What is the capital of Northern Ireland? (Belfast)

8. What food is traditional at Christmas? (roast turkey)

9. When is Halloween celebrated? (October,31)

10. Name the river London is situated on. (the Thames)

6.      What is Buckingham Palace? (the Queen’s residence )

7.      What is celebrated on February, 14? (St. Valentine’s Day )

8.      When do English children go from house to house and say: "Trick or treat”? ( Halloween)

9.      What is Robin Burns famous for? (Scottish national poet)

10.  Where does the British Prime Minister live: at10, Downing Street or at 12, White Hall? (at 10, Downing Street)

T: The next round is called "Puzzles in the Barrels”.(Заморочки из бочки)  You see 14 colorful barrels, 7 for each team. There are English proverbs in them. Team captains, come here to choose one barrel. The task is to give Russian equivalents of the English proverbs. If you give a word-for-word translation, you’ll get one point. If you give a Russian equivalent of an English proverb, you’ll get two points. Besides, there is a "Lucky chance” card. A "Lucky Chance” card will give your team extra 5 points added to your score.

T: Game III is called " Hurry up and See!”(Спешите видеть) I’ll show you several pictures of some holidays in the UK. You have to name what they are and give some information about them. Any member of the team can add something if they want.

T: Game IV is called "You Ask Me, I Ask You”.(Ты - мне, я - тебе) Your homework was to think of the questions for the members of the opposite team. Be ready to ask your own questions. You will get one point for each correct answer. Who will start this round? Whom do you want to ask your question? Is that right or wrong? Which is the correct variant? (Will you give your own answer?)

Let’s listen to the jury. How many points did both teams manage to get in this round? What is the current score?

T: Game V is called "Trivial Pursuit ”. (Гонка за лидером) Our game is coming to an end and the last round will turn out to be deceive. I’ll read the questions in turn for each team. Again you may interrupt me with the right answer or say "Don’t know” and I’ll read the next question for the opposite team. Of course, the team with the most correct answers wins this round. This time we shall start with the team which has the least points.

3.      The permanent seat of the British Parliament. (the Houses of Parliament)

4.      The English writer whose the most famous novel is "Robinson Crusou”? (Danial Defoe)

6.      He wrote a famous book for children entitled "Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland ”. (Lewis Carrol)

7.      Where do children find Christmas presents? (in stockings or beneath the Christmas tree)

8.      Two popular gentlemen associated with Baker Street? (Sherlock Holmes and Doctor Watson)

9.      What are lanterns made out of at Halloween? (pumpkins)

10.  The memorial in front of Buckingham Palace? (Queen Victoria Memorial)

T: Well, jury, it’s time to declare the winners of today’s game….. Congratulations to all the members of the ……. team. You were the best. But ….. team, there is no need to worry. You were also great. I’m sure next time you’ll be luckier.
